Pastoral Staff

Together, Larry Kleiman and Lori Bievenour share the ministerial duties of St. Peter's congregation.

Larry serves as St. Peter's senior pastor. He is a native of Indiana and has been serving St. Peter's in this capacity for over seven years. Larry received degrees from Valparaiso University and Christian Theological Seminary.  Larry has been our senior pastor for 10 years.

Lori was hired as St. Peter's first associate pastor in July of 2003. She is a native of Wisconsin and a lifelong member of the United Church of Christ. Lori is a graduate of Butler University and Boston University School of Theology.

Administrative Assistant

Theresa Weaver is St. Peter's Administrative Assistant.  She is in the office from 8:30am - 5pm working on the weekly bulletins, the monthly newsletter and other design needs.  Prior to moving to Indiana in 2004, she attended the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  While she didn't obtain a degree at that time, one of her goals is to receive her Bachelor's degree.

Organist & Music Director

Kent Grumbles has served St. Peter's Church as Organist and Music Director for the past 18 years.  In addition to his organist duties, he is responsible for directing the adult choirs, coordinating the children's music program, organizing special music for worship during the summer months when the choir is not in session, and overseeing maintenance of the church's 17-rank Wicks pipe organ and Yamaha Conservatory grand piano.  With over 35 years of church music experience, he has served in similar positions in North Carolina, Alaska, Texas, and Oklahoma.  Holding both undergraduate and graduate degrees in choral music education, Kent previously taught high school music in Alaska.

Bookkeeper

Kelley Wertz has been Bookkeeper for the Church and Preschool since January 2007. She and her husband Jeff have been members at St. Peter's since 2001, transferring from the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Shelbyville.  They have two daughters, Olivia (4) and Rebecca (3), who both attend St. Peter's Preschool. Jeff is native to Indiana, while Kelley was born here, grew up in Pennsylvania, and relocated back to Indiana. A graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with degrees in business and management, Kelley previously worked in human resources/payroll/benefits management. In her free time, Kelley enjoys family time, reading, music, and being outdoors.
